How LI works

Laser Interceptor is fifth generation active jamming device, which means it emits light and blocks police laser from obtaining measurement of your speed.

Laser Interceptor consists of two outdoor and one indoor unit. Each outdoor unit consists of a receiver (two diodes, horizontally and vertically polarized) and transmitter (a 90W laser diode). Both the outdoor units are mounted on the front of the vehicle.

After each switching the device performs self-test and using synthesized voice informs you if everything is OK, and if not, specifyes exactly what the problem is. Recieve-transmitter unit has two built-in sensors, sensitive to the laser beam. When the sensor receives the laser beam, it transmits impulses to the microprocessor (located in indoor unit), which processes them and sends impulses to the corresponding transmitting laser diodes.

Units with built-in laser diode increases efficiency.

Laser diode radiation is not harmful to human eye unless you use optical instruments to focus the beam. The laser diode used in Laser Interceptor sensor's is a Class 1M per IEC60825-1.

Both outdoor units are synchronized, enhancing the effect of interference.

When the "laser" receives impulses from the vehicle with installed Laser Interceptor it will get the wrong information about the current distance from the vehicle. Police laser gun calculates speed of he vehicle as change of distace in given timeframe so it will not be able to calculate the speed - therefore it will not display speed.

The device will warn us first with specific sound signal, then will say exactly what LIDAR is trying to measure the speed and ask us to slow down. The whole procedure is repeated until policeman stops trying to measure the speed or until you turn off the Laser Interceptor. Also, the device will alert you when the sun is blinding the sensor (the sun is a powerful source of all wavelengths light, including those of police laser's). The device has a built-in thermo-regulation to maintain optimal performance in extreme temperature conditions. The casing is made of black powder-coated aluminum. At the front is receiving optical lense that is resistant to mechanical damage.

Sometimes LIDAR can make error speed reading at the expense of driver (if the driver does not use the jammer)! For detailes look at the following video clips. (In English, clip from the BBC, "Inside Out Mobile speed cameras".
